WEEK 3 DH MONDAY NIGHT!

Week 3 of DH. Me being silly and already staying up late to study! Tonight I went to Target and spent $26 on dental products. . . having good oral hygiene is expensive. . . Which makes you realize that money is big reason why people have bad oral hygiene. I feel blessed to be able to afford these things. And I love that my job is to educate people and put into action clinical skills to help people that can't afford dental care. <3

DH 2013 VCU Alumni Lunch

Pretty in Purple. Yesterday the DH 2013 class attended the alumni lunch. We listened to the older alumni "preach" to the baby alumni (us). It is always good to see their smiling faces and excitement for this program. Much love for dentistry and the people before us that have put their heart and souls into making VCU's dental hygiene program what it is today. I got a little teary eyed. It is a blessing to be apart of this program.

Goodbye Summer

Ready to start the new chapter in my life. I had an awesome summer continuing my medical leave from VCU's DH Program. My time was filled with nannying, working retail at Loft enjoying my 50% discount, and filling the rest of my time as a youth leader and worship leader at Hope church in Goochland VA. Being away from dental school made me realize how much I miss every aspect of it and want it to be my career. During my time away from school I have been able to find an amazing church fellowship... One that I probably would not have come across if it was not for going on medical leave. It saved me. I am blessed with amazing friends that have made this past summer the most amazing summer of my life! I completely see the blessing in starting over and starting new. I am so excited about new friendships and I pray I keep the old ones too.
